Weekly Mix #82

There's some new music worth listening to on this mix as well as some older gems that I needed to have on here for whatever reason was so crucial at that time. This almost seems like a party mix with a couple exceptions
go and find these songs and listen to 'em

1. I Wanna Be Adored by The Stone Roses
Some songs should have been used already like this one. I love it to death in all of it's Madchesterness!

2. So Far by Buckcherry
This is actually the same type of song as above but it sounds nothing like it. These sleazy Hollywood boys were supposed to bring back the glory days of the Sunset Strip but it just never happened.
3. White Limo by Foo Fighters
Welcome back boys! going on and going strong.

4.Make Some Noise by Beastie Boys
Still funky after all these years! This is the best song they've released in over a decade and one of the best songs of the year. the video is funny too.
5.Blow by Ke$ha
This is a party jam and it is dumb but what can you do.
6.Hold Back the Rain by Duran Duran
So funky, so English. I love the classic Duran Duran a little too much

7. Yeah Yeah Yeah by The Sounds
I love their keyboard sound and their Blondie look

8. Lies of the Beautiful People by Sixx A.M.
Nicky Sixx' other band
9. Beatles and Stones by Beady Eye
Not the song by the House of Love
10.Dance The Night Away by Van Halen
I don't usually think about dancing when I think of Van Halen
11.Degeneration Street by The Dears
I have no clue if this is parallel or crosses Fascination Street or Desolation Boulevard.

12.Needle In The Hay by Elliott Smith
and then he killed himself
12.For 12 by Other Lives
This s dream rock . . . I think.
13.Poison Ivy by Faster Pussycat
Sucky Glam Rock but I get into it
14.The Boy looked at Johnny by The Libertines
Back when this band was the buzz, back when people though they mattered

15.Tomorrow Has To Wait by Peter Bjorn and John
Love these guys, beards and all.
16.You're So Right by The Strokes
Another song from their 2011 album
17.Be Your Bro by Those Darlins
This is just a funny song about wanting to be friends with a boy

18.Tiny Dancer by Elton John
This is a very famous song! Not just Almost Famous
19.Rave On by Buddy Holly
I think this is my favorite song by him
20.Going Out In Style by Dropkick Murphys
In love with Boston? Well, here's the band for you!

Weekly Mix Tape Pt 34

With the exception of a couple songs I really enjoy this mix as there were enough current songs mixed with the classic and obscure. enjoy

1. Ch-Check it Out by Beastie Boys
Big Beginning, high energy and well known; it's a good way to start even if I'm not a fan of the song.
2. Authority Song by John Mellencamp
Back when he was a Cougar back when he wrote pop songs
3. American Idiot by green Day
This made the group explode all over again and far less annoying to parents
4. Ride by The Vines
mediocre pseudo punk from Australia
5. Photograph by Def Leppard
In 1983 this song was gigantor! The band scared me though.
6. Fall To Pieces by Velvet Revolver
The last great power ballad 20 years late. Actually this song grows on me more and more.
7. Don't Stop Believin' by Journey
Does it get and more huge than this? Does it get any more classic than this? Not at this point but this was entered here between it just being a great song and the Sopranos and Monster. It sounds different now that I almost connect it to those two things.
8. C'mon C'mon by The Von Bondies
Jack White beat the crap out of the singer for talking shit about Meg White; it worked wonders for the Von Bondies. In the rap world it's the equivalent of 50 Cent getting shot; it changed everything. Now you can hear this song on the show Rescue Me.
9. I Want Candy by Bow Wow Wow
Not to be confused with MC Pee Pants' Aqua Teen Hunger Force classic, I want candy was a tune that I loved when it came out and even though I was nine years old I knew it wasn't about lollipops. You know the singer was 13 when this song hit?
10. Filthy/Gorgeous by Scissor Sisters
Liking this song doesn't make you gay
11.Move Your Feet by Junior Senior
Little straight guy, big gay guy; that's all I know about this band
12.A Girl Like You by Edwin Collins
A great one hit wonder from the 90s! It has that 80s one hit wonder vibe to it; I can't explain any better. I guess I knew Id never hear from Edwin Collins again.
13.Tattooed Love Boys by The Pretenders
The pretenders doing there thing.
14.Tipsy by J-Kwon
Prerequisite party song
15.New Song by Howard Jones
This song instantly transports me back to 1984 whe I thought rock stars all lived life like they did in their videos.
16.Hombre by M.I.A.
Future voice of 2008
17.Look What You've Done by Jet
All filler no thriller
18.Standing Outside a Broken Phonebooth With Money in My Hand by Primitive Radio Gods
I feel the same way about this song as I do about the Edwin Collins song
19.I'm Not Okay (I Promise) by My Chemical Romance
I didn't care much for this one when I first heard it, in fact I thought it was garbage but something happened, maybe it was the video that changed my mind. MCR are not punk which makes them a great pop band.
20.A Message to You Rudy by The Specials
Old School ska used for a diaper commercial, somebody's youth was sold out that day.
21.Texas by The 360's

The 360's

A song about the JFK assassination by a band from Boston.
22.Waiting On A Friend by The Rolling Stones
More classic rock that could be perceived as a song about loitering around to get a fix. I don't think Keith Richards was sober in the video.

Weekly Mix Tape Pt 32

I believe I had just been introduced to iTunes as I created this mix but I had not yet went crazy on it. This is a weak one with exception to a few songs like Oasis' "Whatever" and Muse' "Stockholm Syndrome"

enjoy

1. Why Do You Love me? by Garbage
Goodbye Garbage, this is the last thing worth while the band did, maybe if Shirly just hated herself a little more . . .
2. Never Enough by The Cure
One of my favorite Cure songs, is this on a non greatest hits album?
3. Toxic by Britney Spears
Hello Britney and goodbye. This song came out when a lot of music sudenly had middle eastern strings thrown in the mix
4. Milkshake by Kelis
How is this song supposed to make me feel?
5. White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane

Haight/Ashbury at it's apex! Also a side note this song was in the movie Platoon
6. Stockholm Syndrome by Muse
A great song that was never on the radio; I discovered it on a juke box in a bar
7. Next To You by The Police
They have nothing like this energy anymore
8. Take Me Out by Franz Ferdinand

Are they Scottish? Are they gay? These are the things I here about them.
9. The Metro by Berlin
Somber 80s pop with synthesizers all over it. It doesn't make me love riding the subway but it does romanticize it.
10.Sexy Boy by Air

Trippy 90s synthesizer pop
11.I, Zombie by White Zombie
You can not deny The White Zombie! It doesn't bet much more badass than this!
12.Breakin' by The Music
Meh
13.Goody Two Shoes by Adam Ant
This is one of the first videos I'd ever seen; it was so cool to me when I was 9 years old. I think Axl Rose still his outfit for one of those piano videos
14.Triple Trouble by The Beastie Boys

Man, this group sucked at this point
15.Birdbrain by Buffalo Tom
Boston Rocks!!! But alas Buffalo Tom is no more . . . tough they got kinda' lame towards the end
16.Church Of The Poison Mind by Culture Club
Is this my favorite Culture Club song? I think so, very Motown
17.Whatever by Oasis

One of the best non album songs ever released
18.Louis XVI by Louis XIV
Not one of their best songs but it's passable as background noise
19.Crazy Beat by Blur
Blur's last studio album before Damon Albarn
20.Honky Tonk Women by The Rolling Stones
This song is all about the cowbell
21.Rebellion (Lies) by Arcade Fire
Let's welcome Arcade Fire to the mixes! They big sweeping songs, don't they? It seems this band is also quite polarizing which is weird to me

Weekly Mix Tape Pt 27

I think I had recently purchased a Hip-Hop compilation which busted out like crazy on my speakers and influenced my mixes.

1. Helter Skelter by The Beatles
"I've got blisters on my finger!" You know what I'm talking about.
2. By The Way by Red Hot Chili Peppers
This is the last good song the band ever recorded
3. It Takes Two by Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock
When I first heard this song it was ON! I thought it was freaky and super damn cool! It catches your attention with those gasps and shouts; it was too cool to possibly be a huge hit but there it was, awesome.
4. So What'cha Want by The Beastie Boys
This is the first Beastie Boys song I ever liked, everything before it was annoying. Later I grew to appreciate Paul's Boutique
5. Pennyroyal Tea by Nirvana
From the album In Utero which was supposed to sound horrible but really just sounded like the next level of grunge.
6. Get Free by The Vines
I couldn't name another of this band's songs
7. Far Gone And Out by The Jesus & Mary Chain
The pop side of the Scottish duo
8. Pop Song 89 by R.E.M.
This song was on, Green which came out in 88
9. Funkytown by LIpps Inc
Oh, won't you take me down to Funkytown? If there was such a place I have to wonder how much the rent is there; it's gotta' be outrageous!
10.Keep Fishin' by Weezer
Power pop, baby!
11.These Boots Are Made For Walkin' by K.M.F.D.M.
Nancy Sinatra did a version of this song in German which might be why a German industrial band covered it.
12.Young Lust by Aerosmith
The fact that Steven Tyler keeps it in his sneaker makes all the difference.
13.Smack My Bitch Up by The Prodigy
If you thought you were cool in 1997 this song was rad!
14.Girls On Film by Duran Duran
Duran Duran makes me wish I was a 13 year old girl in 1982
15.Pet Eunuch by Clinic
Showing their less trippy, organ side and rocking out while wearing surgical masks.16.For nancy by Pete Yorn
This song wasn't written for Wynona Ryder but it might as well have
17.There  Is an End by The Greenhornes & Holly Golightly
Retro sound for the cocktail set
18.Jump Around by House Of Pain
White rap! The band should have been from Boston but weren't.
19.A Little Less Conversation by Elvis Presley
The King may be dead but his songs will kept popping in places like Oceans 11
20.Up The Bracket by The Libertines
Heralded as the English version of The Strokes, they were much sloppier but somehow as exciting.
21 Love Spreads by the Stone Roses
From the much maligned Second Coming Album; it's a departure form the sparse danceable Stone Roses of the first album and filled with bass and rock guitar
22.Who's Gonna' Ride Your Wild Horses (Temple Bar Mix) by U2
This isn't eh album version, it's a more stripped down version makes the song much more ballsy and heartfelt. They took out all the reverb and synth and replaced it with cello and piano.
