Dead Literature

J.D. Salinger is dead. (1/1/1919 -1/28/2010)
So I am one of the few people that managed to never read "The Catcher in the Rye". I transferred out of the class in High School that had it on the curriculum, I didn't accept it from the person who insisted I read it and I never even got curious about it. I do understand that the book however touched a billion people and made losers feel cool and created a whole subculture. I understand the notoriety drove Mr. Salinger underground for most of his life and that was before paparazzi and media is what it is now.
Should I write about something I don't know? Why not, all the big shots at the crumby corporate news sites do and they are all totally phony.

Hello Ladies

This is America and there isn't much difference between these two women.

I don't even feel like I need to go into detail

I'll let you count the ways and feel miserable about our country . . . or you may want to plant another flag in the ground and salute; that's up to you!

The Hawk Lands in Cooperstown

Good job to the sprots writers who voted in Andre Dawson into Baseball's hall of Fame. Mr. Dawson entered Basebal in 1976, won the Rookie of the Year award in 1977, spent the next 11 seasons destroying his knees on Montreal's AstroTurf and being the best player on the team. The Hawk then went to the Chicago Cubs in 1987 and offered to play for whatever they wanted to pay him; he responded by winning the national League Most Valuable Player award with career highs in Home Runs (47) and Runs Batted In (147)though the team finished in last place.
The stats will show that he is only one of three players who have 300 stolen bases and 400 Home Runs (Barry Bonds and Willie Mays being the other two) Towrds the end of his career he spent years with the Red Sox and the Marlins; he never got to play in a world series

Sean Combs

Why do I dislike Sean Combs?

He's full of shit, everything he does to promote his image is so unauthentic it's like watching a propaganda film. A propaganda film made by a 12 year old. I believe that he thinks he's awesome and some sort of International playboy and maybe he is but he isn't; he's just rich and forces people to recognize it. It's sort of pathetic how he needs the world to know how successful he is. I'll tell you the problem is that he wants to be the star instead of the money behind the product and he doesn't have any real star power just the capital and the connections to force things to happen. I wonder what goes through his funny looking head; is it dollar signs?

I should actually support him; he is living the American Dream, right? Rags to riches and such? Maybe the tragedy is no matter what he's made from himself he still lacks genuine class.

Mr. combs attempts to pay for a hot dog . . . mo' money mo' problems

I shouldn't care about anything he does but it forced at me far too often for me to ignore which might contribute to the annoyance I feel.

Oh yeah he benefited greatly off a friends death which he probably was involved with

You're such a baby!

When English children whine they are the whiniest children in the history of whiny children. I don’t wish them any harm but I do think their whininess as children comes back to them as adults when their own children start whining. They sound is so effete, it all sounds like spoiled crying as if their Earl Grey wasn’t steeped for 5 minutes exact. This is not to say that these children’s concerns aren’t legitimate; it’s not like they just cry about only liking chips and not their fish. I suppose however being British is enough to make anyone whiny.
To be fair English whining compared to American whining is more tempered; they don’t have the outrageous tantrums which make our young seem so spectacular. There is nothing quite so horrific as seeing a child screaming so hard their fat, little face is red.
Maybe I should travel the world to find out the true whine of each culture's children or maybe I should just listen to White Lion's "When the children Cry"

Now What?

The novelty of the 21st century is over
The dawning of the teens are here
I expect some laughs and I expect wars
I expect to see things progress past 2012
I expect plenty of stupidity
I expect technology to improve and ruin our lives
I expect to feel old and look young

Trivial Award of the Decade

I'm calling this decade a tie with Jack White and Jay-Z, both had their hands in everybody's action, as producers to artists. Both were born with different names and both collaborated with Alicia Keyes

Jack White had 5 albums with the White Stripes, a couple with The Raconteurs, one with his newest band The Dead Weather, he produced the Von Bondies he sang and produced Loretta Lynn, he secretly sang with the Electric Six, did some tracks for the Cold Mountain soundtrack, appeared in several movies as himself, as a traveling musician and even as Elvis. He did the theme song on "Quantum of Solace"

Jay- Z produced everybody in hip hop, launched Rihanna upon us, made Beyoncé's star even bigger while rapping along with her, he made the Yankees cap more famous than a Yankee, took over record companies and sports teams and made more money than you ever will. Jay-Z released 7 albums of his own He appeared in some movies. He did a new theme song for New York City.
