FOOTBALL
So I don't write about this "all American" game very much, in fact I can only think of one reference to it and that was in context to an overheard conversation about Jesus and football. Why do I prefer Baseball over the NFL? It's really the whole insane culture that surrounds Football where it becomes the anchor of the weekend and a sport becomes a critical must of all things. Baseball is a pleasure that seems to be a there when you want it. I could go on but George Carlin actually says it much better.

there are many games in a regular baseball season. losing one doesn't have as much weight. whereas for the nfl, each and every game is critical as there are only 16 games. for those 16 games, each game is crucial to determine the playoff opportunities.
