Well this is the first mix to be published in 2012! There are no 2012 songs on the list but that's okay because there are no less than three covers on this one!

1. Immigrant Song by Karen O and trent Reznor
What this song says is that no mortal man can sing like Robert Plant and a woman must be brought in to sing the Led Zeppelin cover, also it was the reason why the trailer for The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo was so good. This song makes me want to rape and pillage but not really.
2. Who's Gonna' Ride Your Wild Horses by Garbage
This is a great song but I never liked the arrangement U2 used, I preferred some of the stripped down remixes. Garbage takes this song and goes trippy with it. 
3. I Think The World Of You by Two Wounded Birds
This song is a Radiohead rip but it's good and lets me pu the next song on here without guilt.

4. Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead

There was a time when they still made music that normal people liked to listen to, not the crap they do now which is little more than  weird impulse and beats.

5. Morning Glory by Oasis
If you know this album at all, you know that song is a alarming when it hits. Nothing else on the album is like this and that makes it really f'ing cool. I love the helicopter!
6. I Am The Walrus by The Beatles

Without the Beatles there is no Oasis or countless other English, Brit pop bands

7. Nightcall by Kavinsky & Lovefoxxx

This gem is from the, Drive  soundtrack and is a beautiful synth song! It sounds like the dark side of the early 80s.

8. Villains of The Moon by Cold Cave

More 80's synth inspired music, it's cool.

The real deal.

10.Something To Die For by The Sounds

They're too good to be this unknown but that's life. They also sound influenced by 80s synth bands.

After their last album I thought the Horrors were done and would float away on their stupid soundscapes but this cover of Bowie is awesome! Good job!

12.World Up My Ass by The Circle Jerks
Can an 80s LA hardcore punk band be seminal? Well these guys were. They were a reason that scene was what it was. You can see them in The Decline of Western Civilization being loud and fast if you're curious, probably on YouTube as well.

13.Civliization's Dying by The Hives
They kept it real with a punk cover. Can the Hives really be punk though? Can Sweden be punk? Black Metal, yes but punk?

Unfortunately it did not and it makes this song much more sad than it was ever intended to be. It's a little difficult to ignore her passing when listening.

This band was huge in the UK but never caught on too big in the States, maybe you saw them on 120 Minutes one Sunday night. They had a big sound and big hair. They were the next thing after Manchester.

This is not the Whitney Houston  song about being tired of one night stands this is Swedish awesome music that shares that Duran Duran spirit I think.

This is from their newest album. Why do they get more and more ethereal and weird, what happened to their creepy nervous angst and rocking spirit?

This song is actually pretty dumb but it's funny and feel good rock so it gets on the mix. Also because I quite enjoyed 1989.

13. Hey Ladies by the Beastie Boys

Yup, from 1989's masterpiece, Paul's Boutique. Okay, I don't know if that's a step too far but the album m did shake asses and get sampling into the next level.

14.No Church in the Wild by Kanye West and Jay-Z

A good beat goes a long way, y'all! I really like some of the songs on Watch The Throne. I don't think it's my favorite album of the year but it's definitely in the top 5! "Your Love is my scripture" That's some cool ass lyrics.

15.Apple Blossom by The White Stripes

On the other side of things this is just a man and his guitar.

16.Maggie M'Gill by The Doors

I used to not care for this sing, thought it was dumb but now I enjoy the bluesiness of it and like to get it on just like the people Tangie Town.

17.Irresistible Forse by Jane's Addiction

Welcome back boys, welcome back with a song that's not great but enjoyable on some level of unoffensive.

18.Olé by Pearl Jam

I like when old bands can keep their energy up. This is a new 2011 song by the old boys that I find quite cool.

19.Silver by Nirvana

I don't know if you can have one without the other. Peral Jam without Nirvana is like The Beatles without the Stones, sort of.

20.Mama, I'm Coming Home by Ozzy Osbourne
and you can't have grunge without metal. This is a great, big stupid sing along that Lemmy of Motothead wrote.

Another week another mix! This one has some sort of theme I think, can we find it through the music? Obviously by the end it all comes around.

One of 2010's huge hit songs and put the chick who bragged about missing girls into mega stardom, getting her a crazy husband.

Kind of a cult band, kind of the band that only music geeks know and the fact that they're covering Roky Erikson makes it even more precious.

Television skies . . . Awesome!

Transitions are so important in a mix and this song picks up so well from the last it's like magic.

A speedy Portishead tune that sounds like something off of the Flash Gordon Soundtrack and in the end suddenly become the next song on the mix like it was meant to be!

Is this Rod at his best or creepiest? I don't know but the song has always left me feeling raw.

Great Stones! This is one of the reasons people loved Exile On Main Street!

This is a 2009 mix with several songs that I never listen to but wanted to represent represent on a modern mix. Sometimes I think that I have to put more emphases on modern, current tunes than better ones in  fear that I may become an old fart. Maybe I just need to dig more deeply into the unknown . . .

Josh and the boys are not subtle by any means. They are a band who needs a scene.
6. My Way by Miss Crazy
A band that wanted the 80s back in all their glam metalness. Sorry guys, you missed the boat.
7. Primary Colours by The Horrors
It's a sweeping  song from band that used to be anything but. It reminds me of 80s music I never heard.
8. Petition The Lord With Prayor by The Doors
You Cannot petition the lord with prayer!
9. United States of Eurasia/Collateral Damage by Muse
Showing their love for Queen and Radiohead full on!
10.Beach Town by Le Loup
It's kind of etherial and kind of hypnotic but mostly it's not much of anything you'd have an urge to hear
11.Fine For Now by Grizzly Bear
Only slightly more friendly than the last song, this tune has some nice harmonies but mainly makes you turn into a drip.
12.Every Rose Has It's Thorn by Poison
There's something about a huge hit ballad that can make unknown indie rock seem totally lame
13.Art isn't Real (City Of Sin) by Deer Tick
Sometimes one discovers a little indie song that is remarkably good and you wonder why nobody else knows about it. I found this song on a Penguin music sampler.
14.Everymorning by Sugar Ray
I liked them better when they just wanted to fly.
15.T.N.T by AC/DC

Yup, snap out of it we're blowing shit up with the greatest thing ever to come out of Australia.

16.Cryin' by Aerosmith
I'm getting soft because after years of denying any like for this song I finally caved.
17.Standing Next To Me by The Last Shadow Puppets
More sixties inspired rock. I feel like I should be riding in a black cab through London , heartbroken, wondering where it all went wrong.
18.Coffin Faftory by The Mumblers
Some boys from Silicon Valley got out there organ and made some music, there should have been a movement around this but that's just me being' wishful.
19.Time Has Come Today by The Chambers Brothers
Are these guys one hit wonders? I think so. It's a good 60s song about change and all that 60s garbage.
20.Use Somebody by Kings of Lyon
This should be the end of the mix but I decided I didn't want to be a total wuss
21. You Could Be Mine by Damone
Worship the power of GN'R even if it through a cover song by a very underrated band.

This song sounds like a clash outtake and is pretty good; they never lived up to their billing as the next big thing/ the next Strokes but this tune is cool, especially the intro.

2. Sex On Fire by Kings of Leon

This song signified the Kings joining the mainstream and the end of them as an interesting indie class band.

3. Kickstart My Heart by Mötley Crüe

When I saw them a couple years ago in 2008 they opened their shows with this monster.

4. Cheap City Thrills by Alleycat Scratch

Glam metal was alive and well in 2008 as this retro gem proved. with exception to the weak solo, these guys nail the feel and sound.

5. Do it Again by Steely Dan

A band named after a pleasure implement in a William S. Burroughs novel. I was fiending to this song when I made this mix; i though it was the best song ever for about two weeks

6. Something Burning by The Stone Roses

This is one of the songs the Stone Roses had to record in secret as they were in court with their record label; it's a smooth one.

7. Chain of Fools by Aretha Franklin

The queen of soul, pay your respects

8. You Can't Hurry Love by The Supremes

No you can't. Motown had some fantastic hits come from it, this would be in my top ten.

9. Girlfriend in A Coma by The Smiths

When this song came out we all laughed but all loved it.

10.Who Can Say by The Horrors

Back with a more sweeping sound, the got away from the abrasive choppiness that I loved so much. The keyboards are still pervasive.

11.Mother by Danzig

His one big hit. He channels Jim Morrison in this one.

12.Thirteen by Johnny Cash
Covering Danzig's song; it cool and more somber than ominous
13.These Times They Are A-Changin' by Bob Dylan

Folk music at it's commercial peak.

A little ditty in the midst of a big chorus, they've been paying homage to the Pixies for so long now.

This was there follow up to the huge 2004 effort, American Idiot. It's not quite as great.

16.Messing With My Head by Tinted Windows

The greatest New Wave band of the new millennium. Members of Hanson, Smashing Pumpkins and Cheap Trick formed this one shot band; it's good listening and should have been used in an eighties movie about a fictional eighties band.

17.Rebel Rebel by David Bowie
Bowie doesn't do it any better than this, nor do many others. Teenagers experimenting unite!
18.Poker Face by Lady Gaga

Not only does she owe Madonna a lot but she owes Bowie a lot. This is the sort of songs androids like to kiss to.

19.Words. by Missing Persons

Oh yeah here's another group that influence the previous artist.Actually they are more influential than one might think. I don't even know if people know they're influenced by them. Is that subversive?

Weekly Mix #62

As a reminder these Mixes are all 80 minutes or less to fit on a CD. That notion is sort of old school I guess but how else would one person gift another person a play list; I suppose you could gift each song to somebody but that's weird. I'm sure people who are much more savvy than I have better ways of sharing music but I'm just a simple dude who is always in the dark about tech stuff.
Anyhow this mix is another  2009 ensemble; it's was a little weak and tossed together when I first made it but I eventually went back and moved around some of the songs to be more cohesive and flow better. The newest songs on the mix are certainly not the big hits from the year though it seems that I know knew them best from their placement in television adds. That's sad when I hear the newest music in car and cellphone commercials instead of the radio or whatever.

1. Dead And Bloated by Stone Temple Pilots
The more time that passes the more I realize that Core is a classic album of it's era up there with Nevermind, Dirt and Ten. This is how that album started and this is how this mix starts!
2. Bag It Up by Oasis
A stomping, plodding rocker, not bad but not good enough to get them back to their supersrar status of the mid 90s.
3. You Make Loving Fun by Fleetwood Mac
Groovy seventies hits for all! Christine McVie on vocals.
4. Foundations by Kate Nash

One relationship ditty deserves another. This is a funny and sad breakup song or at least it wants to be a breakup song which is what makes it sad.

5. Thank You Boys by Jane's Addiction
The band that defined alternative rock gets a little jazzy
6. Take Five by Dave Brubeck
West coast jazz at it's most popular
7.  It was a Good Day by Ice Cube

From West Coast Jazz to West Side Rap. Maybe the best song on the mix and definitely Ice Cubes best tune. I'm not gonna lie if i had a day this this I'd want to rap about it too.

8. Two Weeks by Grizzly Bear
This song was in several commercials throughout the year. The album Veckatimest is named after an island off the coast of Massachusetts.
9. Hippi Luv by The Wolfmen
From bears to wolves. Groovy big tune that I've never heard anywhere but my stereo.
10.Bus Stop by The Hollies

The original Manchester band. This is a great melody and a nice little love song!

11.Time Has Come Again by The Last Shadow Puppets
This song should have been on the last mix but here it is in it's echoes and mope
12.Black Grease by The Black Angels

Groovy Sixties inspired rock from England. Welcome to the mixes guys!

13.Iron Man by Black Sabbath

More Black bands without black members. This song is brutal. It is about war and revenge and all things metal. If you put your trust in war it will kill ya'! Best part of the song is when the Iron Man start laying waste to the people who once relied on him for protection but then shunned him for his wickedness. "Heavy boots of Lead"

14.I Cut Like  a Buffalo by The Dead Weather

Jack White is back with another band, gone are the White Stripes, gone are the Raconteurs. This is a stoner's dream.

15.Count In Fives by The Horrors

because organ can be so cool when done right, hers' another tune that exploits the instrument's awesomeness. Another excellent tune from the Strange House album.

16.Dead End Friends by Them Crooked Vultures
John Paul Jones is back and playing with Dave Grohl and Josh Holme. I was a bit let down by this project but this song has grown on me.
17.Youth Gone Wild by Skid Row

One of the last glam metal bands of the eighties to get big, Skid Row's anthem was this number. I think the singer, Sebastian Bach even tattooed it on his arm.

18.Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler
Some lush always sings this song at Karaoke bars. If you were a child of the eighties you may recall the unusual video here's the version that will clear the whole thing up. (Click me) 
19.On My Way by Billy Boy On Poison

This song was used in some commercials for cold medicine I think. It's a cool rock song with blues lyrics

20.They're Red Hot by The Red Hot Chili Peppers
Covering Robert Johnson and covering it very fast. It's cute I suppose.
21.Let It All Hang Out by The Nails

Covering the Hombres, The Nails do a good job with this one and make them more than the band that did 88 Line about 44 Women

Weekly Mix # 61

The First Mix I made in 2009, very early on. Much of it is a time traveling experience that makes me feel like I'm in the showy, glitzy side of the 1960s. While other parts of it are not anything like that. Enjoy and listen and buy, help stimulate the economy, one song at a time!

1. Touch Me by The Doors
I am setting the mood and kicking things off with possibly the cheesiest song The Doors ever did; it's as if Tom Jones took over. if I was around in the sixties and a fan of the band I'm sure I would have wondered what the hell was up with them and why weren't they on drugs!
2. Valerie by Amy Winehouse

Another Mark Ronson produced gem; this is a cover. Something about this number just gets me feeling all right.

3. She's a Lady by Tom Jones
It's been brewing for a little while but Mr. Jones has finally made his way to the mixes with this late sixties sizzler. In case you're not familiar with Tom, he was the original panty dropper as it is said that women of all ilk would toss their undergarments on stage when he played.
4. If Looks Could Kill by Camera Obscura

A San Francisco band who were from the 00s but lived in the 60s. Continuing the trend this tune could be from girl group with a tyranical producer behind them.

5. Three Decades by The Horrors

The follow up to their intense, creepy, dark rock album the Horrors began getting more sweeping with their keyboards and the vocals are bigger. It's a bit psychedelic.

6. Baby Love by the Supremes

Ms. Ross and the ladies deliver the real Motown deal in this ear candy of a song.

7. I Kissed A Girl by KatyPerry

Bringing us firmly in the present a young, devoutly Christian chick discovers a B side to her sexuality and scores a huge hit. Strangely this tune is kinda' raw compared to her future hits like, California Gurls but it does let us know that she is a bit wacko.

8.Hit The Road Jack by Ray Charles

Taking the hint from Ms. Perry the blind smack fiend gets his ass outta' Georgia and on the road.

9. See What I Wanna See by The Lovemakers

Back to the present day the Lovemaker's sophomore effort produced this funny song about not being a ho . . . I think.

10.Waiting for the Rapture by Oasis

One heavy bass drop deserves another., Oasis was inspired heavily by the sixties, right? The last Liam Gallagher album.

11.One Of a Kind by Placebo

They are about as creepy as The Horrors and just as British.

12.Shadowplay by The Killers

Covering Joy Division Brandon Flowers and the boys do a good job.

13.I Just Wanna Love U (Give it 2 Me) by Jay-Z

Sampling great 70s soul is a good idea for the biggest rap star of the decade.

14.Pretty Tied Up by Guns N' Roses

Autobiographical songs are cool I guess.

15.Zombie Grave yard by Be Your Own Pet

They rocked and now they are gone

16.Juicebox by The Strokes

Borrowing the bass line from the Munster's theme, The Strokes do good in what would be their last album for 6 years.

17.Anyone Else But You by The Moldy Peaches

They got a popular song when it was used in that Juno movie. A movie with a myriad of things that led into and came out of it.

18.Smokin' in The Boys Room by Mötley Crüe

Good time rock for good time folks. I've never smoked in the boys room actually so I don't know if it's all it's cracked up to be.

19.These Boots Are Made for Walkin' by Nancy Sinatra

And we're back to the sixties again! this song gained more popularity in the 90s when it appeared in Austin Powers International man of Mystery as the fembots shot bullets from their . . . err . . . guns.

20.Little Green bag by George Baker Selection

This is another song that got noticed again in a movie, this time it was Reservoir Dogs.

21. Relator by Pete Yorn & Scarlett Johansson

I'm pretty sure Pete just wanted to get into Scarlett's knickers and so he recorded a whole album with her proving that Winona didn't obliterate his career. Scarlett doesn't sing poorly but she does sound a bit lazy.

22.Love is a Stranger by Martha Wainwright

Yup, this is Rufus' sister and she does a great version of the Eurythmics song that while feels completely different than the original is just as good.

23.Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond

If Tom Jones is coming over than I'm getting out my Neil Diamond records too. Without this song, Red Sox fans would have nothing to do during the 7th inning stretch.

24.Distant Dreamer by Duffy
I love this song; it is ethereal and perfectly wistful; I think this has to be Duffy's best song to date. This also completes our sixties pop fetish.

One might say she's an Amy Winehouse clone and I won't argue

Doing her heartbroken best, Amy knows how to set a voacl mood.

5. Where Did Our Love Go by The Supremes

The originals, the best girl group ever

6. The Chills by Peter Bjorn and John

This is a chilling toned tune by the Scandinavians. If I didn't know better about bands like Abba and all that death metal I would guess this is what music from that part of the world should sound like.

7. Are You Experienced? by Jimi Hendrix

Gorgeous psychedelic rock. When this came out, nothing sounded like it; it was the birth of guitar ecstasy. It takes you to another place in the cosmos of the mind.

8. Fields of Joy by Lenny Kravitz

Following suit Lenny gives the old Psychedelia a try as well, he's helped out by Slash. I didn't take to this song for a bout 17 years.

9. Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden
Beautiful psychedelic guitars from the last great grunge album. From Seattle, Soundgarden scored a huge success with this gem; the video had a lot to do with it. Even though this song was enormous and ubiquitous at it's peak it took me 17 years to finally love it.

This song will wake you up from the dripping guitar tribute.

11.Two-Timing Touch and Broken Bones by The Hives.

Electric Light Orchestra! Jeff Lynn's band does a little throw back music even in the eighties. This song was used in coffee commercials back then.

This is what non country or western Tennessee rock sounds like, awesome! Well loud and frantic and a little stupid but still good stuff.

The follow up to Tear You Apart, not as good but still moody L.A. stuff.

Weekly Mix #57

This Mix was made in 2007 and while sort of seems like a collage of unrelated songs there are a couple threads here and there. Pantera shows up for the first time. A couple one hit wonders also show in the forms of Blind Melon and The Toadies. The most outlandish song is That Ain't Right. Enjoy the music if you can!

Karen O get's a lot of her vocal sounds from Siouxie so I thought I'd compare the two side by side.
3. Pretty Green by Mark Ronson feat. Santo Gold
The previous song ended with, "hey!" and this one begins with, "hey"; it makes a lot of sense. Ronson put out this album of his music and singers he liked; it worked. The beat of this songs goes well with the next.
4. Freedom 90 by George Michael
A good song that was maybe more famous for it's video which featured the day's super models and not one image of the singer.

Moody, haunting, sexy and totally coked out!

The Horrors were my favorite band at the time when this mix was made in 2007
7. No Rain by Blind Melon
Say  little prayer for their dead singer Shanon Hoon and enjoy this classic 90s song about a boy and his bong.
8. Hey, Good Lookin' by Hank Williams
Didn't ever listen to the cowboy until the mid 00s and then I thought he was pretty cool
9. Broken Boy Soldier by The Racanteurs
Creepy music by Jack White and friends
10.Misery Business by Paramore
Poppy music with a chick singer and a almost rock guitars. If anything I learned what the word paramour meant after hearing this band.
11.Crazy Bitch by Buckcherry
Where to start . . . Notorious. What I've learned about this song is that while some women don't appreciate this song at all while others use it as their ring tone. The guitar part was written by Slash.
12.Unglued by Stone Temple Pilots
In many ways STP are like those 70s bands that everybody but the reviewers liked. This song is a good rocker.
13.That Ain't Right by Heavy Trash
 Cowboy up and listen to this tale of domestic troubles. I think this was a joke band but I have no idea really.
14.Tick Tick Boom by The Hives
Not only is this the bands best song but sports broadcasts love to use it as the clock ticks down.
15.Could This Be Magic by Van Halen
One of the stranger pieces of music Van Halen put out as it's just a little acoustic guitar, foot tapping and Diamond Dave singing about boozing it up and having a great time in the tropics. Actually the other guys do step in for the chorus.
16.The State of Massachusetts by The Dropkick Murphys
This songs starts like an Irish sea shanty but then explodes; it's what the Dropkicks are good at.
17.Fucking Hostile by Pantera
While most rock bands were getting weak and lame, Pantera was insistent on being METAL! They rocked very hard and gave teenage boys hope that somebody understood them. Hell, listening to this song now get's my adrenaline going. Welcome to the world of my mixes. Rest In Piece Dimebag.
18.I Don't Wanna Stop by Ozzy Osbourne
A good metal effort by an old man on the wrong medication. I first heard this gem in a car which made it more awesome than it really is.
19.Possum Kingdom by The Toadies
Our second stop on the weird 90s review is this song about . . . well I'm not sure, girlfriend murder, maybe?
20.Elizabeth My Dear by The Stone Roses
Just a minute long this isn't really a song and was used just a s filler. Though a song about killing the queen of England to the tune of Scarborough Fair is super weird.
21.Stronger by Kanye West
This song has nothing to do with the rest of the mix but it was there for using so I took it and ended my mix with a dance beat!

Weekly Mix # 56

Am I clever? No. But I did manage to put Me, Mr. & Mrs. Jones all in the same mix; it's trouble especially because "me" in this case is two different people, A skinny junky girl from England and a middle aged black man from Philadelphia. Both got great pipes and got soul but I think that's it. This was good mix for 2007, not the best but good. Several good 00s bands represent for the a multiple time like Interpol, White Stripes and Clinic while Tim Armstrong makes his first appearance as a solo artist.

Do you remember this song from 1990? I did too and I listened to this number for about a week straight when I was making this mix.

5. The Heinrich Maneuver by Interpol

They want to know how things are on the west coast and I guess they're pretty good.

Not a real band but an awesome band from a great movie, O Brother Where art Thou?

Weekly Mix #55

New Arrivals! peter Bjorn and John, Amy Winehouse, Cold War Kids, Justin Timberlake, Silversun Pickups and the Horrors! This mix was better than I thought! On this mix I started to put more emphasis on new music rather than a couple new tunes surrounded by oldies, for better or worse I think it works very well here! So go and listen, the Heretix song is hard to find btw.


1. Enter Sandman by Metallica

Before this song Metallica was a speed metal band that terrified all. The black album was released and suddenly they were just a big rock metal band that made more money than ever before.

2. Down by Stone Temple Pilots

This is a good song to have as an alarm in the morning. This may be the last ++ song they did.

3. Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and John

PB&J gave whistlers something hot! There's a sweet melancholy in the romance of this Scandinavian band's biggest hit to date. We can welcome them to the mixes too.

4. You Know I'm No Good by Amy Winehouse

From 2007's best album, Amy Winehouse got very real with us in her do wop, soul way.

5. The Chauffeur by Duran Duran

Off one of the great 80s albums, Rio. In live shows, Simon does poetry to this song and whips about a flute from his trousers . . . AWESOME!

This song was so huge it even made me want to dance and up until this song I loathed Justin Timberlake and all his mouse buddies.

I like this song tons! I liked it much more than their single at the time,  Lazy eye. If Billy Corgan wasn't so insane and full of himself this is what the fourth Smashing Pumpkins album would have sounded like and there would have been great rejoicing instead of a collective, "whateveh" I hope you like reverb!

The top 20 songs are here and they are not your favorites, in fact you may have never heard of a few of them but that's because this list is compiled by a music snob who likes to rock out and get down.

20. Gold Digger by KanyeWest
Getting help from Jamie Foxx as Ray Charles, Kanye (that jackass) West broke into mainstream heaven with a song that uses the N word about as often as you typical DMX rap.

19. Leda Automica by Year Long Disaster
Rock from the 70s never quite dies and this song proves it with solid Led Zeppelin riffs and lyrics nobody cares too much about, Year Long Disaster made me rock a bit harder in the 00s.

18. I Just Wanna Love U by Jay-Z
Upon listening to this song you just feel cool as hell! It's a great rap for the gents like most of Jay-Z's action.




17. Wolf Like Me by TV On the Radio
This may be the only song that anybody ever hears from this band and it's enough. TV on the Radio composed a mysterious tune that sounds like the soundtrack to a very intense night.




16. American Idiot by Green Day
If you guessed Green Day would make a come back this big you are friggin' genius! Just when you thought punk was dead it proved that not only was it dead but it never wanted to be alive by selling millions and becoming MP3 Gold.



15. Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) by Beyoncé
Here is a song that has a life of it's own as a big club dance number, a song to make the ladies feel empowered when they ask where their fellas where the relationship is going and it even resurrected Bob Fosse to direct the video. This song may be forgettable in the future or it may go on to be the most memorable song of the decade as it can be played at weddings; who knows.

14. Sheena Is A Parasite by The Horrors
One of the shortest songs on the countdown (1:42) and possibly paying tribute to the Ramones' "Sheena is a Punk Rocker", The Horrors assault you with muffled and spiteful lyrics, drum n' bass and an organ that makes all the difference. If a song can be haunted this one has a poltergeist.

13. Distant Dreamer by Duffy
A song that was never a single but really should have been, Distant Dreamer is the best song on Duffy's album, "Rockferry". She muses about life and what she wants but will never have in wonderful blue eyed soul fashion.



12. Feel Good Inc. By Gorillaz
A sick laugh followed by a sick ass bass line; this is what makes this song come to life while the nonsense chorus about windmills is the hook that you start singing a few hours later. Like Gorillaz breakthrough single, Clint Eastwood there is also a rap that is thrwon out there for some sort of wishful street cred that never arrived but gets the buts on the floor.

11. Hey Ya! by Outkast
If you are a woman and don't like this song, you are alone. Andre 2000 sings a bunch of lines men wish they thought up to sing to the ladies and that's because he's sexier and smarter than you. Hey Ya! is a modern song with a classic feel that makes you clap along.
